According to the report on the situation in India, the incidence of malnutrition in India has come down in the last 15 years, but today there are 25 million people suffering from malnutrition in the country. More than 30 million children are under five years of age. However, the situation has improved compared to 2009. Twelve years ago, 25 million children under the age of five in India were malnourished.
The problem of malnutrition in India has improved slightly, but obesity has increased. The prevalence of obesity in adults is increasing alarmingly. More than 30 million people in the country are obese. In a country with a population of 12 crore, 25 million people are obese. In 2014, there were 2.4 crore obese people in the country. Anemia was seen in women. In 2016, 131 million women were anemic. That figure has now risen to 12.5 crore.
Corona epidemics, civil wars, terrorism, bilateral wars, etc. have caused food shortages in the world. 300 million people in the world do not get enough food. There are 36 million people in Africa, 25 million in Asia, and 33 million in Latin America and the Caribbean.
